Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is a federally assisted initiative that provides students with free fresh fruits and vegetables during the school day. Designed to introduce children to a variety of produce, the program encourages healthy eating habits and supports nutrition education in schools.
Now in its second year at Ashe County Schools, the FFVP is available at all three of our elementary schools. Through this program, students enjoy fresh, unprocessed fruits and vegetables outside of regular meal times, helping create a healthier school environment while expanding their taste for nutritious foods.
