Back-to-School Blast

On August 9, 2025, more than 4,000 students, families, and community members came together for our biggest Back 2 School Blast yet!

Ashe County Schools partnered once again with the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office to make sure every student started the year prepared, confident, and excited for what’s ahead.

As in years past, students and families had the chance to:

• Pick up class schedules and get a head start on the year
• Meet their teachers face-to-face
• Receive FREE backpacks and school supplies
• Enjoy a FREE lunch with friends and neighbors
• Watch exciting K-9 demonstrations
• Dive into games, crafts, and hands-on activities

Our amazing community also stepped up in a big way!

• Local organizations shared resources and services for families
• Participating salons offered free haircuts
• Shoes for Kids made sure students walked into the first day with brand-new shoes
