Ashe County Board of Education Endowment Fund
The Ashe County Schools Endowment Fund was established in 2000 by the Ashe County Board of Education to help provide long-term financial support for innovative learning opportunities in local classrooms. Created with an initial anonymous donation of $25,500, the fund has grown to more than $403,000 through the generosity of individuals, businesses, foundations, and community supporters. The Endowment exists to help bridge funding gaps caused by reductions in federal, state, and local education funding while ensuring educators have access to resources that support engaging, hands-on, and creative learning experiences for students.
Through the Endowment Fund, Ashe County Schools educators can apply for mini grants that bring new ideas and innovative teaching strategies into the classroom. Since 2003, more than 120 grant proposals have been submitted, with over $166,000 awarded to support educational initiatives across the district. The fund continues to grow through donations, fundraising efforts, and the annual Endowment Golf Tournament, helping strengthen opportunities for students and teachers throughout Ashe County for years to come.
